Maui Tsunami - The Next Day

This is the beach at Kalama Park - this should all be filled in with water, but it has all pulled out.
Walking where there should be water.
Still no water.
Strange sight seeing what is normally under water.
This is at the cove. Usually you can only see this rock at low tide. As you can see the water is pulling out.
Pulling out further.
Still out, but starting to come back in.
All covered up again.

The South Side of Maui wasn't as hard hit as other areas. The wave came in at about three feet and reached up to the main road. It covered the entire Kalama Park - which had just dried out after it had flooded (during all the flooding we had been having). The wave hit on March 11, 2011 at 3:00 am. This is what it looked like 7 hours later at 10:00 am. The waves were still pulling out and then rushing back in, but not past the beach - still kind of cool to see.
